Brendan Gemmell was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  Prior to law school, Brendan attended Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in History (2015) and a Master of Arts in History (2017).  He was a recipient of the Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships Program:  Masters Scholarship.  He also had the opportunity to work as a teaching assistant in the History Department during his graduate studies. 

Brendan attended law school at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, in Edmonton, Alberta, where he graduated in 2020.  During law school Brendan volunteered with Student Legal Services and summered with a mid-size law firm in Edmonton.

After completing law school, Brendan moved to Nanaimo, British Columbia to article with Warsh Law.  He completed the Law Society of British Columbia Professional Legal Training Course (PLTC) in August 2020 and is looking forward to being called to the BC bar in mid-2021.  Brendan is interested in developing a family, estate and real estate legal practice.

Brendan has lived in several different provinces across Canada and is happy to now call Vancouver Island home.  He enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, running and golfing, and is eager to explore the Pacific Northwest with his family.
